Structured cabling design, outlet planning, copper and fiber infrastructure, pathways and technical documentation for commercial projects across New York City.
LVWave provides structured cabling design for new construction, renovations and infrastructure upgrades across New York City. Design can include telecommunications outlet locations, horizontal and backbone cabling, copper and fiber requirements, cable pathways, MDF/IDF planning and technical documentation before installation begins.
LVWave can provide structured cabling design as a standalone service when another contractor or internal team will perform the installation, or combine the design with LVWave structured cabling installation. The design scope is defined around the project requirements, available drawings, existing conditions and required deliverables.
Outlet locations are planned around the systems and devices each space needs to support, including workstations, phones, wireless access points, security cameras and other network-connected equipment. Planning can account for architectural layouts, furniture or workstation locations, device requirements and practical cable-routing constraints.
Structured cabling design includes the horizontal cabling that connects telecommunications outlets to the serving telecom space and the backbone infrastructure that connects MDF, IDF and other telecommunications spaces. Cable media, distribution and connectivity are planned around the project requirements and building layout.
Depending on distance, bandwidth requirements, device needs and building layout, design can identify where Cat6, Cat6A or fiber-optic infrastructure is appropriate. Fiber may be used for backbone connections between telecom spaces or other applications where copper is not the appropriate medium.
Structured cabling requires practical routes through the building. Depending on the project, design can identify proposed pathways using conduit, cable tray, sleeves or other available low-voltage routes and coordinate those pathways with outlet locations, telecom spaces and architectural conditions.
Structured cabling design can include the location and organization of MDF, IDF and other telecommunications spaces, including how they serve nearby outlets, connect to the backbone and support the planned cabling infrastructure.
Depending on project scope, telecom-room documentation may also include rack locations, patching requirements and basic rack-layout information.
For construction and renovation projects, cabling design can be developed using architectural backgrounds, project requirements and applicable telecommunications specifications provided by the project team. Pathways, telecom spaces and outlet locations can be coordinated with architectural conditions and other relevant project information within the agreed design scope.
Structured cabling provides physical connectivity for systems such as Wi-Fi access points, IP security cameras and network equipment. Cabling design can be coordinated with the relevant LVWave design disciplines — including CCTV Design, Wi-Fi Design & Site Survey and Network Infrastructure Design — so outlet locations, pathways, telecom spaces and backbone infrastructure support the systems planned for the project.
Depending on project scope, structured cabling design deliverables may include:
