CCTV and video surveillance design, camera placement, coverage planning and technical documentation for commercial projects across New York City.
LVWave provides CCTV and video surveillance system design for new construction, renovations and existing-system upgrades across New York City. Design can include camera locations, coverage planning, equipment requirements, recording and storage planning, network coordination and technical documentation before installation begins.
LVWave can provide CCTV design as a standalone service when another contractor or internal team will perform the installation, or combine the design with LVWave security camera installation. The design scope is defined around the project requirements, available drawings, existing conditions and required deliverables.
CCTV design starts with what each camera view needs to accomplish and which areas require coverage. Project requirements may include general situational awareness, clearer identification at entrances or other critical locations, operational monitoring, incident review and other site-specific objectives.
The design should account for existing construction, mounting constraints, lighting conditions, obstructions and other relevant site conditions.
Camera locations are planned around the required views, expected subject distance and site conditions. Placement can account for field of view, camera type, lens requirements, mounting height, lighting, obstructions and practical installation constraints so cameras are positioned to capture useful views without unnecessary duplication.
Depending on the project, design can include camera count and type, NVR or recording architecture, equipment locations, network connectivity, remote-access requirements and other system components needed to support the planned surveillance coverage.
Video storage requirements depend on camera count, resolution, recording settings, expected bitrate and required retention period. CCTV design can include NVR or storage sizing based on the agreed recording requirements so recorder capacity is considered before equipment is installed.
IP camera systems depend on cabling, network connectivity and available PoE capacity. CCTV design can identify camera network requirements and coordinate with Structured Cabling Design and Network Infrastructure Design so camera locations, cable pathways, switch connectivity and system capacity are considered together.
Existing surveillance systems can also be redesigned or expanded. Depending on the project, LVWave can review existing camera locations, cabling, recording equipment and coverage requirements to plan camera replacement, system expansion or migration from older analog/coax-based surveillance to IP camera infrastructure.
For new construction, CCTV locations, pathways and related infrastructure can be planned before walls and ceilings are completed. For renovations, design can account for existing conditions, available pathways, architectural constraints and infrastructure that may remain in service.
Depending on the project scope, CCTV design deliverables may include:
Deliverables vary by project and are defined by the agreed design scope. Not every project includes every drawing, calculation or schedule listed above.
