Low-Voltage Design & Technical Documentation in NYC

Low-voltage design, drawings and technical documentation for architects, contractors and commercial projects across New York City.

LVWave provides low-voltage design and technical documentation for construction, renovation and infrastructure-upgrade projects across New York City. We work with architects, contractors, property owners and technology teams on CCTV, structured cabling, network infrastructure, Wi-Fi and commercial audio systems.

Standalone Design or Design + Installation

LVWave can provide low-voltage design as a standalone service when another contractor or internal team will perform the installation, or combine design with LVWave installation. The scope and deliverables are defined around the project requirements, available base drawings and required level of documentation.

Practical Design & Project Coordination

LVWave develops low-voltage plans with installation and field conditions in mind. Depending on the project scope, design can be coordinated with architectural floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, equipment rooms, pathways and related project requirements to produce clear technical documentation for the installation team.

Typical Project Inputs

  • Architectural floor plans and reflected ceiling plans, when available
  • CAD or PDF drawing backgrounds
  • Project scope and system requirements
  • Existing-system information or site-survey findings
  • Owner or IT equipment standards and preferences
  • Existing rack, MDF/IDF or equipment-room information where relevant

Required inputs vary by project. Not every project needs every item before design work can begin.

FAQ

Low-Voltage Design FAQ

How much does low-voltage design cost in NYC?
Pricing depends on the systems being designed, project size, available base drawings, required documentation and number of revisions or coordination requirements. LVWave can review the project information and provide an estimate based on the design scope.
Can LVWave provide design without installation?
Yes. Low-voltage design and technical documentation can be provided as a standalone service when another contractor or the client's own team will perform the installation. Design can also be combined with LVWave installation when appropriate for the project.
Can you work from architectural floor plans, CAD files or PDFs?
Yes. Depending on the project, LVWave can work from architectural floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, CAD backgrounds, PDFs and other available project documentation. The required source information depends on the systems and deliverables involved.
What drawings and documentation can be included?
Depending on the project scope, deliverables may include system floor plans, device locations, cable and pathway plans, riser or single-line diagrams, system schematics, rack elevations, equipment or cable schedules, coordination drawings and other technical documentation.
Can you coordinate with architects, contractors and IT teams?
Yes. LVWave can develop and revise low-voltage technical documentation using project information and feedback from architects, contractors, owners and IT teams within the agreed design scope.
Do you provide stamped or sealed engineering drawings?
No. LVWave provides low-voltage system design and technical documentation, but does not provide professional engineering or architectural seals. If a project requires stamped or sealed drawings or other professional sign-off, that work must be provided or reviewed by the appropriately licensed professional.
Can you create as-built drawings for existing systems?
Yes, where the existing system can be surveyed and documented within the project scope. As-built documentation may include device locations, cable or connection information, rack information and other accessible system details depending on the project.
