Predictive Wi-Fi design, on-site RF surveys, heat mapping, access-point placement and post-install validation for commercial properties across New York City.
LVWave provides Wi-Fi site surveys and wireless network design for new construction, renovations, network upgrades and existing wireless environments across New York City. Work can include predictive planning, on-site RF measurements, access-point placement, coverage and capacity analysis, heatmaps and post-installation validation.
LVWave can provide Wi-Fi design and site-survey services as a standalone scope when another contractor or IT team will perform the installation, or combine the design with LVWave Wi-Fi installation and support. The scope depends on the project stage, available floor plans, existing wireless environment and required deliverables.
Wireless coverage and access-point placement planning based on floor plans, building information and project requirements before installation.
On-site measurement of existing wireless coverage and RF conditions to understand how Wi-Fi performs across the property.
Visual coverage mapping used to identify signal patterns, weak areas and other wireless conditions across the surveyed space.
On-site validation after deployment to compare installed wireless coverage and performance with the project requirements and identify areas requiring adjustment.
Wireless design should begin with the areas that require coverage, the types and approximate number of client devices, expected applications and how people or devices move through the space. Depending on the project, planning may consider coverage, capacity, signal quality, roaming requirements and other wireless performance objectives.
Predictive design uses building plans and project information to model proposed wireless coverage before access points are installed. Floor plans, building materials, coverage areas and expected device requirements can be used to develop preliminary access-point locations and wireless coverage plans.
Predictive results are based on the available building information and assumptions. Actual RF conditions may differ after construction or installation, which is why on-site validation can be useful.
Access-point locations are planned around the required coverage areas, building layout, mounting conditions and expected wireless use. Design can consider signal propagation, device density, practical mounting locations and the relationship between access points to develop a deployment plan without simply adding more APs than necessary.
An on-site wireless survey measures RF conditions across the property using the actual building environment. Depending on project scope, survey work can evaluate existing coverage, signal levels, interference or channel conditions, access-point locations and other factors affecting wireless performance.
Survey findings can be used for a new design, an existing-network assessment or post-installation validation.
Wi-Fi heatmaps translate wireless survey or design data into floor-plan views that make RF conditions easier to evaluate. Depending on the survey or design scope, maps may illustrate signal coverage, signal quality, channel or interference conditions and other relevant wireless metrics.
Heatmaps are part of the analysis and reporting process; they should not be presented as a guarantee of application performance.
After access points are installed, an on-site validation survey can verify how the deployed wireless network performs in the actual environment. The survey can compare measured coverage and other agreed wireless criteria with the design objectives and identify areas where access-point placement, configuration or other conditions may need further review.
Where remediation is required, this can be coordinated with Wi-Fi & Wireless Networks for installation, configuration or optimization work.
For new construction and tenant build-outs, Wi-Fi planning can begin from architectural floor plans before access-point cabling and mounting locations are finalized. Renovation and existing-network projects can use on-site surveys to document current RF conditions and support redesign, expansion or validation work.
Wireless access points depend on structured cabling, switch connectivity and available PoE capacity. Wi-Fi design can identify proposed AP locations and related connectivity requirements so cabling and physical network infrastructure can be coordinated before installation, working alongside Structured Cabling Design and Network Infrastructure Design.
Depending on project scope, Wi-Fi design and survey deliverables may include:
Deliverables vary by project and are defined by the agreed scope. Predictive design, on-site surveys and post-installation validation are different services, and not every project includes every map, measurement or document listed above.
Review the property, coverage areas, expected devices, applications, available drawings and required deliverables.
Review floor plans, building information and existing wireless infrastructure where applicable.
Determine the required planning or survey approach based on the project stage and available information.
Develop or evaluate access-point locations, coverage and relevant RF conditions within the project scope.
Prepare the required heatmaps, AP plans, findings and technical documentation.
Provide the completed design or survey documentation, or perform post-installation validation where included in the project scope.
